Smile

Another exhibition that was in Ruthin Craft Center at the time was an exhibition titled 'Smile'. A variety of work by a thirteen contemporary artists.Artists included Julie Arkell, Janet Bolton, Lucy Casson, Eleanor Glover, Freddie Robins and many more. 'Smile' looks at how makers have explored the quintessentially British love of everyday humour.some of the subject matter include holidays and memories of childhood. My favourite piece in the exhibition was 'Upholsters' by the Lucy Casson, which was a favourite in another exhibition years ago called 'Folk tales and Fairy tales'. The piece was an old broken chair with little creatures fixing it, some where abseiling down the back, other putting stuffing back into cushion other at a work table discussing their next move.
